Apple Pay leverages contactless payment technology and unique security features built right in to Apple Pay-enabled devices for easy, secure payments. Using NFC technology (short for Near Field Communication), payment information goes through a special chip inside the Apple Pay-enabled device to the NFC reader at the point of sale. Built-in Touch ID™ requires a customer’s fingerprint to verify payment authorization.
