Step 1: Choose the best payment solution for your business (payment gateway or mobile terminal)

Step 2: Apply online or by phone

Step 3: Your Merchant ID (MID) is typically available in one business day, pending an approved application.  You will receive a welcome email once your account is approved.

Step 4: It's time to set up your payment gateway or virtual terminal once you receive your hardware, if ordered.

  • Non-Executive members pay a one-time $25 application fee and a $4.95 monthly statement fee. These fees are waived for Costco Executive Members.12

    • Commercial cards: Commercial cards 2.65% + $0.29
    • Non-Qualified: Most keyed transactions with missing information, high cost specialty rewards cards, Commercial Level 1 3.35% +$0.29
    • Ultra-non-qualified standard tier: Keyed transactions with missing information or settled late for qualification 4.20% + $0.29
